Synthesis and Characterization of Electromagnetic Materials.

Abstract

This report covers research on rare-earth magnetic materials and the electrical and optical properties of semiconductors. Studies were made of the magnetization reversal process in RCo5 particles and sintered permanent magnets and experimental verification of a model for the magnetization reversal in RCo5 particles were conducted. Research studies were conducted on both the optical and electrical properties of defect centers in semiconductors. A wavelength modulation spectrometer was designed to investigate the electrical characteristics of defects in Hg(x)Cd(1-x)Te.
