Stochastic Errors in Estimates of Parameters of the Distribution Function of Fog, Cloud and Precipitation Drops,

Abstract

The article determines confidence intervals for parameters of a class of distribution functions for drops in fogs, clouds and precipitations as a function of the total number of drops in the sample, both in the case when one of the parameters is known and also for the case of two unknown related parameters. The errors with which the mean dimensions of the drops are determined which are due to the finite sample are discussed and the correlation between the sample mean dimensions of the drops is investigated.
