An Instrumentation System for the Measurement of Soil Resilience.

Abstract

The purpose of the system is to enable a quantitative comparison to be made of the hardness of various landing zones used for dropping stores by parachute. The system is portable and battery operated and records on magnetic tape the output from an accelerometer which is mounted on a weight and dropped onto the ground.
