Ultrasonic Flaw Detection of Joint Welds,

Abstract

The physical fundamentals and principles of the ultrasonic flaw detection of weld joints are presented, the procedure for the inspection of different joint welds and questions of the operation of specialized equipment are examined. There are provided recommendations, tables, graphs and nomographs, which can be used in production practice. Special attention is given to analysis of the acoustic circuit of the flaw detector, to the investigation of the basic parameters of inspection and to the substantiation of the principles of their standardization, and also to the problem of automation of the process of ultrasonic flaw detection.
