Detecting Errors by Monitoring Signal Parameters,
Abstract
Problems encountered in improving the fidelity and speed of transmission of discrete information in automatically switched signal channels are investigated through the use of integrated checking of the signal. Calculations are presented for the rate of transmission, probability of undetected error, and probability of erasure in reception with a zero zone.
