Schur Functions in Statistics. III. A Stochastic Version of Weak Majorization with Applications.
Abstract
This is part 3 of a series of papers on Schur functions in statistics. The main purpose of this part is to (a) develop the new concept of stochastic weak majorization, and (b) to develop techniques to utilize this concept in the field of stochastic inequalities. The authors introduce a stochastic version of weak majorization, develop its properties, and obtain multivariate applications. New results are obtained for the multinomial, multivariate negative binomial, and multivariate hypergeometric distributions.
