A Methodology for Planning Land Use and Engineering Alternatives for Floodplain Management. The Value of Land in Alternative Urban Uses.

Abstract

The study reviews the site rent concept as a conceptualization of the joint consequences of land use management and engineering works, shows the relationship between site rent and land prices, and describes the results of a test of least squares procedures for estimating the market value of land in alternative urban employment. The report deals with the practicability of using econometric procedures as a tool of analysis in urban floodplain management planning using land value as input data.
