Description of a Technique for Performing Sones Coronary Arteriography.

Abstract

To serve as a guide to students of coronary arteriography, at all levels of proficiency, is the overall purpose of this informative report. The Sones technique, which has been proven safe when used by persons of varying proficiency, is presented as the procedure of choice and is comprehensively illustrated. Step-by-step information is included on: precatheterization preparation, surgical techniques, brachial artery catheterization, Sones coronary arteriography technique, and arteriotomy repair. The report is intended to reduce the anxieties and frustrations experienced by students of catheterization by explaining what to expect from the cutdown to the skin closure, as well as by affording knowledge of proven procedures and maneuvers to use in specific circumstances.
