Strain Gage/Signal Conditioning Calibration Procedure, Load/Strain Measurements Subsystem.

Abstract

A total of five airborne telemetry/command packages will be fabricated to meet the balloon instrumentation requirements. There will be one package that will be configured for R and D with the capability to provide the operational parameters and Load/Strain data for balloon design verification. This system will include a command system and two telemetry links with the capability of one commutated channel and/or 17 continuous channels to provide a total capability of 35 Load/Strain measurements in addition to the operational measurements. The Load/Strain system will have a minimum capability of 9 load cells, 8 strain gauges, and 6 each three axis fabric monitors. The strain gauge measurements will be monitored on the nose structure in the moored position with other selected parameters via open loop (RF) and/or land line.
