Preliminary Report on a Program to Study Proton Deposition in the Atmosphere.

Abstract

A one-dimensional model based on a continuous slowing down approximation is used to study proton deposition in the atmosphere. The effects of hydrogen atoms created by charge exchange processes with atmospheric gases are included, and secondary electron processes are taken into account. Some preliminary results are presented for several incident-proton energies.
