Lectures on Airplane Dynamics: Symbols, Tables, and Figures,

Abstract

A training lecture series in Airplane Stability and Control was presented at the El Segundo Divison of the Douglas Aircraft Company, Inc., in 1957/58. This course was divided into two parts, Steady-State Stability and Control, and Airplane Dynamics. A number of useful tabular summaries of various aspects of Airplane Dynamics were used during the presentation of the latter part of the course. It is the purpose of this report to make available a consistent set of these tables, together with background information in the form of symbols, definitions, and figures.
