Multivariate Approximation Schemes and the Approximation of Linear Functionals.
Abstract
The purpose of this report is to study some multivariate numerical approximation schemes derived from a 'blending-function' approximation of a given function of several variables, in such a way that the approximation order of the original approximation is preserved. The approximation schemes so obtained are used for the approximation of linear functionals defined over a space of functions of several variables. Also, some illustrative examples are included.
