Evolution Equations in Infinite Dimensions.

Abstract

This is a short survey of some existence theorems for evolution equations in infinite dimensions. In the first section the difference with the finite dimensional case are emphasized. In the second one existence theorems using approximation by finite dimensional problems (Galerkin's method) are given. In the third, some other existence theorems are obtained by application of various fixed point theorems.
