Uniform Consistency of a Histogram Density Estimator and Modal Estimation.

Abstract

This paper gives conditions for uniform strong consistency of a histogram estimator proposed by Van Ryzin (1973). The results can be used to obtain a strongly consistent estimator of a unique mode of the density.
