Approximation of Complex Aerospace Systems by Simpler Ones,

Abstract

This report is a summary of progress by the author and his associates in their research on the approximation of complex aerospace systems during the period 1 June 1973 through 31 May 1974. Prior research had led to the development of methods for approximating the model of such systems with simpler models which retained main characteristics yet omitted superfluous detail. The research during this period was concerned with the application of one of these methods to approximation of a vibration model of an aircraft wing and an electrical circuit model for a low pass filter, with primary emphasis on computational considerations.
