Abstract
The report is a summary of a symposium attended by member countries of COMECON, composed of socialist countries grouped together for economic mutual assistance. The papers discuss the importance of scientific and technological forecasting as a principal method of advancing development. The development of the USSR electrical power system is discussed in detail.
