The Intrinsic Method for Curve Definition.
Abstract
This report describes a technique of curve description for computer graphics based upon specified intrinsic equations of curvature and torsion as functions of a natural parameter. These intrinsic equations appear as variable coefficients in the Serret-Frenet equations, which are coupled, paramettric, differential equations describing the basic analytic nature of a curve. Unique curves are generated by the numerical solution of the Serret-Frenet equations with respect to a specific coordinate system.
