Investigation of the Influence of Time of Working Load on Bearing Capacity of Ice Sheet,

Abstract

The article is devoted to the questions of deformation (strain) and stressed state of an ice cover with a allowance for the time of load influence. They analyze the available experimental data and the existing mathematical concepts; they discuss the results from theoretical and experimental studies; developed more rigorous relationships of load effect; and reviewed the acutal engineering problems originating during the employment of an ice cover as a construction-assembly area, for winter crossings and as main transportation lines.
