Determining Human Performance Reliability with Infantry Weapons: Part 1.

Abstract

This report describes an experiment to measure the extent and consequence of human error in the operation and maintenance of the Stoner rifle and Stoner machinegun. Human error rates were related to hardware components, and procedures are explained for modifying otherwise inflated 'system reliability' forecasts.
