VIPS: A Visual Imagery and Perception System; the Result of a Protocol Analysis. Volume 2

Abstract

The resultant visual image (the perception) is realized by the integration of a succession of views of (fixations upon) the external environment stimulation. A proposal for the form and content of symbolic visual imagery is developed as a necessary part of VIPS. A comparison of recent research indications leads to the proposal that flexibility of information representation is a fundamental aspect of human cognition.
