Air Launch Characteristics of the MQM-74C Target Drone from DC-130A Airplane

Abstract

A six-degree-of-freedom simulation study was conducted to predict air launch separation characteristics of the MQM-74C aerial target drone from a DC- 130A. The effects of various launch aircraft flight conditions, flow field effects, autopilot control system malfunction, and loss of engine power on target separation characteristics were analyzed.
