A Pulse Modulated Laser Communications System.

Abstract

A system for line-of-sight voice communications using Laser technology as the information carrier was constructed. Photodiode detection techniques were used in the receiver section. Emphasis was placed on compactness so maximum use of Integrated circuits was made. A one-way communications system was built. The concept could be employed for secure communications as on the flight decks of aircraft carriers.
