CaF2 Laser Window Study

Abstract

Single crystal calcium fluoride material has been polished, antireflection coated and characterized. The objective of this effort was to obtain the necessary surface preparation and antireflection coating (PbF2,ThF4, MgF2,BaF2) information for single crystal calcium fluoride substrates for use as high energy/power windows operating in the 3-5 micrometer wavelength region.
