Preservation of Geometric Properties Under an Integral Transformation,

Abstract

The transformation g(lambda = the integral (phi(lambda, x)f(x) d(mu)(x)) is considered, where f and phi are nonnegative Borel-measurable functions of nonnegative arguments and mu denotes the Lebesque measure on the integral equal or < zero, < infinity or the counting measure on (0, 1,...). It is shown that under appropriate assumptions on phi, various geometric properties of f (such as starshapedness and superadditivity) are inherited by g.
