Moisture Resistance of Electrical Insulation,

Abstract

The book is devoted to problems of moisture resistance and water resistance of electrical insulation and electrical-insulation materials used in low-voltage electrical machines and apparatuses. Processes of the moistening of electrical insulation materials and electrical insulation systems are considered, as well as changes in electrical characteristics, methods of testing for moisture and water resistance. The physical interpretations of the processes of diffusion of moisture in electrical insulation material, the forms and types of the connection of moisture with a dielectric, and the electrical conductivity of a wetted dielectric are given. Recommendations are given with respects to methods of the protection of insulation against wetting.
