Investigation of the Vibrational Relaxation of Carbon Monoxide,

Abstract

The investigation of the vibrational relaxation of crabon monoxide was made in a shock tube (diameter 57 mm) behind an incident shock wave in the temperature range of 1500-3000K. For observation of the processes of excitation of vibrational degrees of freedom measurements were made of the time course of the intensities of the first overtone (2.34 micrometers) and of the basic vibrational-rotational band of CO (4.66 micrometers).
