Evaluation of Runway Skid Characteristic at Edwards Air Force Base, California.

Abstract

Data gathered during the Air Force Weapons Laboratory (AFWL) standard skid resistance test conducted at Edwards AFB, California, on 18 to 25 March 1973 are analyzed. Results indicate the runway surface had good skid resistance properties, and no immediate corrective action was indicated at the time of the test. Reduced skid resistance properties at the 22 end of the runway indicated a need to program rubber removal.
