Summary of Proposals for International Cooperation in the Field of Tree-Ring Research.

Abstract

The first International Workshop on Dendroclimatology was held at the University of Arizona, Tucson, April 15-26, 1974, for the purpose of stimulating research in the area of global climate reconstruction. Participants included 27 visiting scientists from 11 different countries and 11 professional staff of the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research, University of Arizona. The first week was devoted to reviewing the fields of climatology and dendrochronology, and the second week included in-depth discussion of specialized problems, organization of international cooperation, and the formation of an International Tree-Ring Data Bank.
