Structure and Properties of Alloys which have been Treated by Laser Radiation,

Abstract

The results of the original investigations of iron-carbon alloys within the laser radiation zone are presented. The nature of the interaction between the laser radiation and the material is examined. The special aspects of heating and cooling of metals and alloys associated with the use of laser radiation are clarified. Changes are demonstrated in the structure, composition and properties of steel and cast iron under the influence of laser impulses obtained under various operating conditions.
