Petroleum - A Prediction Made in 1950,

Abstract

This paper was written in the March-April period of 1950 while the writer was an instructor of Mathematics at The United States Military Academy. It discusses sources of petroleum; how long they will last; whether or not certain of these sources will be inaccessible at some future date because of a chaotic world situation; and whether or not the inaccessible sources are ones the U.S. will be largely dependent upon and hence must plan to replace either by alternate sources or by synthetic processes.
