Research in Materials Science

Abstract

This report presents the Results and status of work after the third six month period of this program which consists of three separate tasks including the following: Optoelectronic materials and components; Minilaser development, diode pumps, KTN modulator program, coupling from laser to wave guide, feed materials for crystal growth; Superconducting Transition metal alloys; Development of surfaces and tunneling barriers for Al5 substrates; Chemical synthesis using high temperature lithium vapor species. Initiation of program involving the Synthesis of polymers and diamond-like materials; problem of purification and separation of the novel polylithium compounds.
