Neoprene Vulcanization for Waterproofing of Underwater Cable Systems,

Abstract

Some equipment operated at sea requires the use of electric cables to connect electronic packages with hydrophones, transducers, etc. It is essential to guarantee a waterproof seal to the cable junction. The procedures evolved at SACLANTCEN to design and manufacture watertight seals on Neoprene sheathed cables are described.
