Primary Irritation Evaluation of Candidate Insect Repellents Study.
Abstract
U.S. Government proprietary compounds, AI3-36155, AI3-36156, AI3-36157, AI3-36160, AI3-36163, AI3-36167, AI3-36169, and AI3-36176, candidate insect repellents proposed for use by the Army, were evaluated on New Zealand White rabbits for their potential to cause skin and eye irritation. The data obtained serve as a basis for making a recommendation concerning their potential use on humans. This recommendation is intended only for guidance in further entomological testing of these compounds.
