Development of Surgical Tools for Eschar Debridement and Wound Cleansing.

Abstract

The report consists of three parts. Part I reports a gaseous jet nozzle with cutting edge which was developed for burn eschar removal. Part II reports a bacterial isolating chamber referred to as 'vortex chamber' which was designed and tested for the effectiveness of containing airborne microorganisms from contaminating the surroundings. Part III reports a CO2 gaseous jet nozzle which was designed for wound cleansing.
