Terrorism and Kidnapping,

Abstract

The author examines terrorism in general and kidnapping in particular. The author discusses the theory of terrorism, its utility and its effectiveness seen from the terrorists' point of view, the reason for its apparent increase in recent years, and some recent and possible future trends. The author further discusses kidnapping by terrorist groups, some of the motives for kidnapping, and the reasons why kidnapping is still a very unpopular crime in this country.
