Stanford Automatic Photogrammetry Research.

Abstract

This report documents the feasibility study done at Stanford University's Artificial Intelligence Laboratory on the problem of computer automated serial/orbital photogrammetry. The techniques investigated were based on correlation matching of small areas in digitized pairs of stereo images taken from high altitude or planetary orbit, with the objective of deriving a 3-dimensional model for the surface of a planet.
