Manufacture and Uses of Foam Glass,
Abstract
The monograph contains information on methods of manufacturing and on the properties of different kinds of foam glass and its applications. Work done in Czechoslovakia, the United States, France, Japan, and other countries is reviewed. Heavy emphasis is placed on the history and present status of foam glass production and uses in the USSR. A new classification of foam glass based on its properties and fields of application is given. Problems of the kinetics of the formation and buildup of the cellular structure in pyroplastic silicate media are examined.
