Non-Linear Effects of Surface Tension in Cavity Flow.

Abstract

A non-linear analysis has been made to determine the action of surface tension on steady cavity flow. The modified Wu's model is used to represent the flow; conformal mapping and the Riemann-Hilbert technique have been employed to obtain numerical and partial analytic (approximate) solutions. The present study shows how the nature of singularity at leading and trailing edges, with and without surface tension, is different. Mathematically the singularity appears to be of the same kind at both edges.
