Experimental and Flight Evaluation of the Titanium Tetrachloride-Water Methanol System for the Production of Smoke Trails.

Abstract

A titanium tetrachloride-water system was developed and used in aircraft and rocket dispensers as a marker for the measurement of natural stratospheric motions and to measure the effects of aircraft operations in the stratospheric environment. These data will be used to predict the effects of aerospace operations in the stratosphere.
