The Development of an Automatic Multisample Isothermal Aging Apparatus

Abstract

A prototype isothermal aging apparatus has been developed in which up to ten polymer samples can be exposed to temperatures up to 1000 deg F for long periods of time. Weight losses of the samples are automatically determined at preset intervals and the information is stored on paper tape. The reproducibility of the data excellent. The apparatus is being adapted for computerization of the data.
