Measurement of Antifolate Drugs by Microbiological Assay.

Abstract

The studies reported here are concerned with the development of a bioassay method for determining the levels of WR-158,122 (2,4-diamino-6-(2-naphthyl)-sulfonylquinazoline) in plasma. Streptococcus faecium var. durans (ATCC 8043) which is highly sensitive to WR-158,122 is being used as the test organism. The effects of plasma on growth and upon the action of the drug upon the test organism have been determined. The stability of the compound in plasma has been established.
