Water Weighted Corer.
Abstract
In order to overcome the intrinsic instability of the Kullenberg-type top-weighted piston corer, a weight stand has been designed which uses the high drag generated by a contained water mass for stability, as well as accruing the kinetic energy of this mass to provide the necessary driving force.
