Lower Ouachita and Black Rivers Arkansas and Louisiana General Geology.

Abstract

This report is intended to provide a basic understanding of the general geologic conditions existing along the lower Ouachita River and the Black River. The area under consideration, lying within the Alluvial Valley of the Lower Mississippi River, includes the Columbia and Jonesville Lock and Dam sites, the entire upper pool of the Jonesville Lock and Dam, and approximately two-thirds of the upper pool of the Columbia Lock and Dam.
