KNORR 34, October 13 to November 8, 1973 and KNORR 36, December 6 to 22, 1973.

Abstract

KNORR 34, a cruise of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution3s Buoy Project, serviced deep-sea moorings from 13 October to 8 November, 1973. Three stations were recovered and four set at Site D (39 deg. 10 min. N., 70 deg. 00 min. W.). The Internal Wave Experiment (IWEX) was initiated. The Tri-moor and a spar buoy were set at 27 deg. 45 min. N., 69 deg. 50 min. W., and five auxiliary moorings for navigation purposes were set and recovered. Twenty-five CTD stations were made in the vicinity of moorings and for geostrophic flow measurements.
