Nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse (NEMP) Hardened Cables.

Abstract

When a system is exposed to a Nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse (NEMP), the cables which are used to connect the components act as antennas and couple NEMP energy into the system. The purpose of the program is to develop shields for a 26-pair communications cable which will significantly reduce the NEMP pickup. Because of the technical approach employed, however, many results of more general interest are obtained.
