Study of the Process of the Starting-Up the Diffuser of Supersonic Wind Tunnel with Eiffel Chamber,

Abstract

The results of an experimental study are given of the process of starting the diffuser of a supersonic wind tunnel with an Eiffels chamber, which has a conical nozzle with Mach number M=2.72, and cylindrical diffusers of different lengths and diameters. It is shown that the stabilization of flow in the diffuser is related to the formation of shock in the vicinity the attachment point of the jet.
