Investigation of Superplasticity in the Zn-Al Eutectoid and the Mg-Al Eutectic.

Abstract

The work was involved with deforming samples of the Zn-Al and Mg-Al eutectoid of various grain sizes and at constant temperature using constant strain rates, then correlating the microstructure, after deformation, to the differences in deformation behavior, and using the existing theories of superplasticity in an attempt to relate the experimental results to theoretical predictions.
