Research on Cryogenic Preservation of Red Blood Cells Using a Non-Penetrating Extracellular Cryoprotective Agent.

Abstract

A given sample of non-penetrating extracellular red blood cell cryoprotective (Hydroxyethyl starch) was reproduced and methods were explored to enhance its cryoprotective features while attempting to minimize undesirable effects. The report contains experiments relating to selection of materials, method of synthesis and biological testing reports.
