Advanced Multispectral Image Descriptor System (AMIDS).

Abstract

Studies by military and civil agencies indicate that targets of military significance may be automatically classified by digital processing of multi-spectral airborne reconnaissance imagery. The objective of this effort is the development and implementation of expanded preprocessing and analysis techniques which will use multi-channel data to classify image points. The project resulted in the addition, to the dedicated digital image processing system at RADC, of special file handling programs and a comprehensive sub-set of OLPARS (On-Line Pattern Analysis and Recognition System). These routines allow a complete thematic mapping (point recognition) application to be performed in an interactive, efficient manner.
