A Proximate Biological Survey of San Diego Bay, California

Abstract

From December 1972 to June 1973 a literature review and field- sampling program were conducted to acquire environmental information concerning San Diego Bay, California. The primary goal was to obtain data in the vicinity of local naval installations that could be used as a baseline in evaluating environmental conditions at other naval installations in temperate waters. A secondary goal was to document existing conditions in the bay. This report presents the results of the survey, including data on the historical uses of the bay, changes in water quality, and past and present biological conditions.
